Small Talk. Why You Should Be Good At It.

You have a work or networking function.  You have to go.  You know you will not know a single soul there.  Cue the "I have a headache" excuse.

You know you will have to walk into a room full of people you don't know and initiate conversation.  This is daunting to most people.  Especially when you walk in and EVERYBODY seems perfectly engaged in absorbing conversation with someone else and there you are....standing alone.  Oh the embarrassment!

It doesn't have to be that way.  There are an infinite number of ways to choose a person to engage with and start a conversation with that person.  There are also very specific tools you can use to keep a conversation know, avoiding the dreaded "awkward silence".

In the same vein there are also oodles of ways to graciously end a conversation when you need to move on.  The list is too long to include in this blog.  Plus, I wouldn't get the opportunity to talk to you!  Schedule a free 15 minute "meet and greet" with me using the link here.
